Barbara (Chapman) Muennink

On September 23, 2022, Barbara Muennink – loving mother, devoted grandma and proud great-grandma “Gigi” – passed away at the age of 80. She was a businesswoman for many years – running Chapman Grain with her husband Jerry and managing a popular river rental property. Barbara left behind two lasting legacies: family and faith. Marrying at 19, she started a small family and blessedly lived to raise and care for three generations. And once the business chapter of her life closed, she invested her energy into spending time with her family, growing spiritually, and impacting her living faith to her children and grandchildren. Barbara showed her love for people by unashamedly sharing the gospel and God’s wisdom with anyone she met – she was known for this (along with her colorful blouses and Christmas yard display). She handed out countless Jesus Calling books and had meaningful conversations with countless strangers about God. We know that her legacy of faith reaches far beyond her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Mildred, and her husband Jerry. She is survived by her three children, Melanie Poole (Patrick Corrigan), Jana Bendele (Fohn) and Craig Muennink (Carla), eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 30^th, 2022 at the Hondo Lutheran Church. Visitation starts at 11:00 and the service will begin at 12:00.

The family has requested that those who wish to give memorials in memory of Barbara Muennink, may do so by sending them to St. Paul Lutheran for the Children/Youth Camp and to the Evangelism team for the purchase of books to continue outreach for Jesus. (P.O. Box 58, Hondo, Texas 78861)
