Catarina S. Ybarra

Catarina Salazar Ybarra, age 85, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on April 9, 2023, in Hondo. Catarina was born in Hondo, Texas on July 4, 1937, to Encairnsion and Escension Salazar.

Catarina is preceded in death by her parents: Encairnsion and Escension Salazar; husband: Gabriel Herrera Ybarra; son: Ventura Ybarra; sister: Jesusa Barrios; and brother: Leandro Salazar.

Catarina is survived by her daughters: Ida Ybarra Garcia, and Edith Ybarra; sister: Delia Resendez; grandsons: Ruben Tapia, Jr., Derek Tapia, Domingo “ D.G.” Olvera, and Stevie Olvera ; granddaughters: Misty Morales, and Rissa Garcia; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 6:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at St John’s Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.
