Cyril R. Van Damme

Cyril Roger Van Damme, age 85, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on February 1, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Cyril was born in Belgium on October 10, 1939, to Emiel Joseph, and Leonia DeBaker Van Damme.

Cyril is preceded in death by his son: Kenneth Van Damme; parents: Emiel Joseph and Leonia DeBaker Van Damme; grandson: Travis Van Damme; and brothers: Julian Van Damme (Kathy), and Rene Van Damme.

Cyril is survived by his loving wife: Joyce Van Damme; sons: Brian Van Damme (Nancie), and Glenn Van Damme (Laurie); daughter: Elizabeth Ballard (Kenny); Daughter-in-law: Dawn Van Damme;  grandchildren: Brianne, Garrett, Amber, Joshua, John, Jordan, Kolten, and Melanie.

A visitation will be held at Hondo Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. John’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., followed by entombment at Hondo Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
