Dolores Vargas, age 77, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2021 in Hondo, Texas. Dolores was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 13, 1943 to Ramon and Anita De Leon.
Dolores is preceded in death by her husband: Paz Lara; her daughter: Damiana Vargas; her parents: Ramon and Anita De Leon; her stepdaughter: Cindy Gonzales; stepsons: Paz Lara, Jr., and Gilbert Lara; granddaughter: Samantha Paula Vargas; grandson: Benjamin Vizcarra; and 2 sisters, and 1 brother.
Dolores is survived by her sons: Rene Vargas, and Max Vargas, Jr.; daughters: Yvonne Vizcarra (Manuel), Veronica Santoya (Juan Ortiz), Aurora Vargas (Alex Rodriguez), and Laura Soto (William Vaughn); stepsons: Ray Lara, Luciano Lara, and Jesse Lara; stepdaughter: Teresa Lara, 9 brothers and sisters; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a rosary beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Hondo Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Hondo Funeral Home, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
