Dorothy Lorene Faseler Graff was born April 3, 1936, and left to go to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Dorothy was born, the youngest of five children, to John G. and Annie Faseler of Yancey. She married John Louis Graff of Hondo on June 6, 1954, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hondo. Dorothy and John made their home in Hondo, where Dorothy worked for various local businesses, the last being as branch manager of First Savings and Loan in Hondo.
Dorothy and John have three children: Rhonda (Grady) Jolley, Randall (Patti) Graff and Royce (Debra) Graff all of Hondo.
Dorothy and John, known as Meemaw and Peepaw, loved their ten grandchildren and never missed a sporting event, dance recital, band concert or any activity involving them. Over the years, the Graff family has expanded to include sixteen great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of almost 58 years, John; by her parents and by her siblings-Ruth Faseler Wilson (Lawrence); Karl Faseler (Viola); Elmer Faseler; and John Faseler (Dorothy).
Dorothy is survived by her sister-in-law, Joann Faseler of Yancey; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Golda Graff of Bridgeport; and sister-in-law, Lillian Graff of Carrollton.
She is survived by her children and their spouses and her grandchildren and great grandchildren : Erin and Blake Holman and their children, Evelyn and James, of Boston; Carly and Jack Hawthorne and their children Henry and Oliver of San Antonio; Bethany and Paul Swenson of Seattle; Anthony an Heather Bendele and their son, Antson of San Antonio; Tim and Laura Graff and their children Nolan, Easton and Vivian of Hondo; Tyler and Kelly Graff and their children Victor, Vincent and Vanna of Hondo; Tessa and Chris Taylor of Hondo; Mitchell and Laiken Graff and their children Mason, Claire and Lane of Castroville; Jared and Joanna Graff and their daughter Peyton of Spring; and Brendon and Callie Graff and their daughter Arya of Kerrville. Dorothy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at St John's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m., Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., and concluded with interment at Hondo Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s Church or a charity of your choice are welcome.
Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
