Epifania “Fanny” Ybarra, age 81, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on October 7, 2023 with her beloved husband Juan Ybarra at her side. Fanny was born on January 25, 1942 in Utopia, Texas to Isabel and Francisco Palacios.
Fanny is preceded in death by her parents Isabel and Francisco Palacios; 7 brothers: Nicholas Palacios, Frank (Janie) Palacios Jr., Jimmy (Lydia) Palacios, Blas (Felipa) Palacios, Raul “Roy” Palacios, Jose “Pino” Palacios and Juan “Boy” Palacios; 5 sisters: Lucy (Santana) Fabro, Terry (Juan) Corona, Isabel (Ernesto) Rodriguez, and Belia Clack; and 2 adopted cousins (Ezequiel Palacios and Maria Hensley) that were raised with her.
Fanny is survived by her husband of 56 years Juan Ybarra; sister Hope Palacios, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fanny was a caring wife, sister, Godmother, aunt, and friend. She was very involved with the Catholic Church; she loved to garden and loved her cats.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at St. John’s Catholic Church from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by recitation of the rosary at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church on Thursday, October 12, 2023, beginning at 11:00a.m., followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Ismael Palacios, Nicholas Palacios, Stanley Clack Jr., Jody Alvarez, Sabino Corona, Vincent Mendoza. Honorary Pallbearers will be: George “Tres” Villa and Nicolas Villa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fanny Ybarra's name to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
