Ernesto "Pisto" R. Mejia, Jr.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Ernesto R. Mejia, Jr. aka Pisto, was born on December 1, 1935, and was received into the arms of our Heavenly Father on March 9, 2024, at the age of 88 years old.

 He was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Mejia, Sr., his mother, Sara Rodriguez Mejia, and his siblings, Albert Mejia, Richard R. Mejia, Raul R. Mejia, Estella Mejia, and Angelita Mejia.

 He is survived by his beloved wife of 50+ years, Irene Luna Mejia, his daughters, Maryjane Mejia, Ernestina Mejia-Menah (Shon Menah), Charlotte Luna Cavazos (Andrew C. Cavazos), and his sons, Ernest Mejia, III (Abby Mejia) and Isaac Mejia (Crystal Cameron), his siblings, Beatrice Herrera, Paul Mejia, Sylvia Silva, Andres Rodriguez, Domingo Rodriguez, Henry Mejia (Sandra Mejia), and sister-in-law, Mary V. Mejia. He was a loving and doting grandpa to 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  He was loved by many to include cousins in San Antonio, numerous nieces and nephews, his in-law family in San Antonio and Austin, and his circle of friends. He did not lack in love. What a blessing!

 A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hondo Funeral Home, followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A second viewing will be held on Friday March 22, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, and concluded with interment at San Francisco Cemetery.
