FRANK EDWARD TOLBERT WINKLER
Frank Winkler, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to everybody, went to be with the Lord on August 4, 2024. He was 81 years old.
Frank was born on January 3, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas to Frank Winkler and Madeline Hemby Winkler. He spent his first 8 years living with his grandparents, Big Mama, Gracie Bell Hemby and Big Daddy John Tolbert Hemby. Frank shared many stories of attending a one room school in Caddo until he was 8 years old. They were his fondest memories.
Frank graduated from Sam Houston High School and attended San Antonio College for several semesters. He joined IBEW#60 in 1962 and was recognized for being a member for 60 years in 2022. During those years, Frank started Tri-County Fixtures & Electric, Inc. and at one time had over 90 employees including his wife as the VP of the company. Frank’s company was very involved with wiring of the clean rooms for the manufacturing of computer chips located in San Antonio at VLSI. Frank was very hands on with the company until he decided to retire, at which time he sold the company to Alterman Electric.
Frank’s biggest joy in life was his family. He married Judy Nan Harvell, with whom he shared 58 years and 7 months of wonderful memories. They had 2 children, Todd Winkler, and Kimberly Ann Winkler Martinez. They also had 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. These children enjoyed many years with Frank taking them hunting and fishing in the 50 acre lake or just riding 4 wheelers to their favorite place on the Batesville Ranch.
Frank will be remembered for his perseverance in the face of adversity even from a young age - his strong love of Jesus Christ, and his profound love and dedication to his family and friends.
Frank Edward Tolbert Winkler is survived by his devoted wife: Judy; his loving children: Kimberly Ann Winkler Martinez (Theron) of San Antonio, Texas; Frank Edward Tolbert (Todd) Winkler, Jr. (Aly) of Temple, Texas; his beloved grandchildren: Brittany Gonzalez (Nathan) of Mexia, Texas, Brendon Winkler (Rebecca) of St. Louis, MO, Madeline Cope Creery (Taylor), Phillip Cope (Laura) of Portland, Oregon, Christopher Martinez (Cassie) of San Antonio, Robert Martinez of San Antonio, Joshua Martinez, of Devine, Texas, Taylor Winkler, Sarah Winkler, Rebekah Winkler, Langston Winkler, all of Ft.
