Hope Mercado

Hope Mercado, age 42, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on September 27, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas. Hope was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 27, 1978, to Erma Rabago and Florencio Z. Hernandez, Jr.

Hope is preceded in death by her partner: Angela Diaz; and her grandparents: Teresa and Florencio Hernandez, and Petra and Pedro Rabago.

Hope is survived by her sons: Jared Garcia, Cedric Garcia, Jonathan Mena, Mark Mena, and Nathaniel Diaz; her daughters: DeeAnitta Mena, Annette Diaz, Christina Martinez, and Yvette Diaz; her parents: Florencio Z. Hernandez, Jr., and Erma Curtis (Bobby); her sisters: Olivia Galindo (Rudy), Rebeca Lewis (Garrick), Leeann Quintanilla (Manuel), Stephanie Brock (Caleb), Faith Rodriguez; brothers: Henry Garza, Jr., and Santiago Rodriguez, Jr.; grandchildren: LeeAndra Mena, and Leeland Resendez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021, followed by recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hondo Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at St. John’s Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo cemetery.
