Juana Nira, age 83, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Juana was born in Hondo on March 8, 1939, to Dominga and Calletano Padron.
Juana is preceded in death by her husband: Avelino Nira; son: Alejandro Rodriguez; parents: Calletano and Dominga Padron; sister: Cristina Sanchez; brothers: Juan Padron, and Calletano Padron; and son-in-law: Jesse Gonzales.
Juana is survived by her sons: Abelino Nira (Alma), Calletano Nira, Juan Nira (Carmen), Ray Nira (Nancy), and Nino Nira (Monica); daughters: Maria Gonzales (Eddie), Linda Cepeda (Ruben), and Mary Jane Flores; sisters: Paula Rios (Adolfo), Sylvia Padron, and Ramona Padron; brothers: Cesario Padron (Josefa); 44 grandchildren, and 111 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by recitation of the rosary at 10:00 a.m., at St. John’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at St. John’s Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home.
