Maria Ortiz, age 78, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on May 11, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Maria was born in Pearsall, Texas on August 27, 1943 to Salvador and Lionicia Becerra.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents: Salvador and Lionicia Becerra; and sisters: Lucia Becerra, Delfina Garza, and Dionicia B. Medrano.
Maria is survived by her husband: Miguel Ortiz, Sr.; sons: Miguel Ortiz, Jr. (Sylvia) and Ruben Ortiz (Olivia); daughter: Monica Ortiz Valdilles (Ray, Jr.); sisters: Carmen Gonzales (Thomas) and Madrianna Marshall; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by recitation of the rosary at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Hondo Funeral Home, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery
