Melvin W. Knecht

Melvin W. Knecht, age 84, of Hondo, Texas, passed away on February 12, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. Melvin was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 18, 1936 to Emma and George Knecht.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents: George and Emma Knecht; Brothers: Walter Knecht, Wilbert Knecht (Mary), and Milton G. Knecht (Shirley); Sisters: Alma Caskey (Walter), Julia Caskey (Harry), June Brandt (John), and Irma Carlins (Robert).

Melvin is survived by his loving wife: Shirley Knecht; daughter: Gayle Gardner (William “Carl”); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 1:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held from 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.
