 Reuben Neal Walston departed this life on Feb.17, 2025 at the young age of 29 in Medina County, TX. He was born in Glasgow, KY on Oct. 24, 1995, to Scott and Debra Walston. He was the youngest of 7 children in the Walston household. 

 He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Joe Carroll Walston and Norma Ruth Cogan; and, Nick Louis Kandaris Sr. and Mary Ruth Kandaris.

 Reuben is survived by his parents, Scott and Debra Walston. Siblings, Brian Walston and his son; Ian Walston and his wife, Dawn, and their children; Christopher Walston and his children; Naomi Diehl and her husband, Manh Phung, and her children. Garrett Walston and his wife, Abby, and their children; Gavin Walston and his wife, Karina, and their children. Uncles Marlin Kandaris, Eli Kandaris, Nick Kandaris Jr. and Kenneth Kandaris. Aunts include Donna Donaldson and Pam Baughn, plus several cousins, nieces and nephews.

 Reuben’s favorite thing to do was play video games and watch movies/YouTube videos in his spare time. Early in life he helped his older brothers with their lawncare service before moving through a variety of other jobs working at McDonald’s, Little John’s Pizza, UPS as a driver, Taco Bell and then finally at the nursing home in Camp Wood, TX where he started out in housekeeping but later became a CNA. He had recently quit his job and was in transition once again trying to find another CNA position elsewhere at which time his life ended tragically in a car fire as he slept. Reuben is greatly missed by his family and friends.

 A memorial service to commemorate his life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Camp Wood, TX on Saturday, March 1st, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial gift may be given to First Baptist Church of Camp Wood. 

Cremation is being handled under the direction of Hondo Funeral Home in Hondo, TX.
