Saul Salazar Mendoza, Sr., of Hondo, Texas, age 75, passed away on February 29, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Saul was born on October 22, 1944 in Hondo, Texas to Pascual and Nicanora Salazar Mendoza.
Saul is preceded in death by his loving wife: Juanita Mendoza; his parents; his brother: Mateo Mendoza and sisters: Augustina Perez and Josephina Moncada.
Saul is survived by his sons: Saul Mendoza, Jr. (Jessica) and Gabriel Mendoza (Faedra); daughters: Mary Torres (Domingo, Jr.), Debora Westemeier (Dan), Idalia Lopez (David), Isabet Yates (Rick), and Rose Lopez (Miguel); brother: Alejandro Mendoza; sister: Ofelia Barrios (Ricardo); 26 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Hondo Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at St. John’s Catholic Church. An interment will follow in Hondo Cemetery.
