Steven O. Hernandez, Jr.

Steven O. Hernandez of Hondo, Texas, 75, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Born in Hondo Texas, April 8, 1948, he was the son of Esteban and Refugia Ortega Hernandez.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Step-daughter Bonita Bottorf, Granddaughter Kaliah Bottorf, infant sister Virjinia, Maria O. Hernandez, and brothers Juan, Guillermo “Wille”, Pedro “Pete”, Antonio, and Felix Hernandez.

Survivors include:
Sons: Steve (Lucinda) Hernandez, John Hernandez, step-son Orlando “BJ” Rodriguez. Daughters: Jacqueline Lowman, Anna Lisa (Orlan) Zepeda. Sisters: Guadalupe “Lupe” Hernandez of Hondo, Margaret Apaez, and Estella (Manual) Arteaga of San Antonio. Brothers: Tereso (Cathy) Hernandez of Jourdanton, Andres (Dora) Hernandez of San Antonio, and Numerous Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery.
