Terry Lynn Wiemers, age 57, of Yancey, Texas, passed away suddenly on Thursday June 29, 2023. He passed away at his childhood property in Yancey, Texas.
Terry was born on February 12,1966 in Pearsall, Texas to Jessie Mae (Allen) and Clarence Ernest Wiemers.
Terry grew up in Yancey and attended school in Hondo, Texas. He grew up hunting and fishing on the family’s property and was involved in 4H, showing pigs at the livestock shows and rodeos. Terry enjoyed playing sports and in high school, he excelled in Football and Basketball. He went on to attend Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where he served as a Resident Assistant at several dorms most notably Brogdon Hall, where he made many lifelong friends. He was involved in the Agricultural Departments Block and Bridal Club while in college and excelled in all his studies. He graduated in May 1989 with his bachelor’s degree in animal science. He worked for Sesaco, for over 20 years as a Research Assistant and traveled all over Texas and Oklahoma working with farmers in those areas. Terry continued to enjoy hunting and fishing and later playing in dart tournaments, tending to his garden, cooking, classic country music and watching sports.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents Jessie Mae (Allen) Wiemers and Clarence Ernest Wiemers, his brother; Doyle Wiemers, and sister; Margie Wiemers Gierisch.
Terry is survived by his son; Wesley Wiemers of San Antonio, Texas and daughter; Lauren Wiemers of Lakehills, Texas. He is also survived by his nephews; Michael and Matthew Gierisch, and niece, Michelle Salinas.
