Zachary Smith

Zachary Nathaniel Smith, 25, of Hondo, went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Zach was born August 13, 1998, to Joe and Cheryl Smith in San Antonio, Texas.

Zach was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved.  Zach’s family meant more to him that anything else in the world.  HE worked long hours at Peerless Equipment, a job that he loved, to be sure that his family was provided for.

You would often find Zach outdoors, as he loved hunting and fishing with friends and family.  Zach truly inspired all those who knew him.  Anyone who knew Zach, knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for.  Zach is survived by his wife Rainee Smith, his high school sweetheart.  Zach’s children Madyson,5, Lane, 4, and Oaklynn, 2.  His father Joe Smith and countless other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Smith. 

Our family is grateful to know that Zach is finally at peace and will live in our hearts forever.

Services are being held for Zach at the Hondo Funeral Home, Saturday January 13^th.  Visitation and Viewing will be from 9am to 12.  Services start at 12.  Burial will be at Hondo cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at Graff 7A Ranch.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a memorial donation be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
